power button stopped working

My Droid Maxx running 4.2.2 randomly had the power button stop functioning today.

This means that pressing the physical power button on the side of the phone wouldn't lock the screen. Also, shutdown and restarting wasn't going to work either.

So, I used some developer tools and looked at logcat.

I tracked the cause down to:
com.motorola.moodle

Basically, it was the process that spewed log events when I pressed the power button.

So, I searched for and then froze the process using TitaniumBackup Pro. Now the power button is working again.

Just putting this on the interwebs so google can index. Who knows if it will help someone else in the future.

As a side note, I do tend to freeze processes from Verizon and Motorola that I don't recognize. Maybe there was some cross process dependency that was my fault. But I haven't changed anything lately, so...
